it's the new wave sweeping the internet and celebrities are getting in on the action welcome to watchmojo.com challenges for this list we're looking at some of the greatest bottle-cap challenges performed by celebrities and ranking them based on a combination of cool factor skill and originality number 10 Jason Statham we all know Jason Statham as a badass action star who was choreographed fight skills impeccable timing and Swift kicks are the stuff of legend but while he normally uses those swift kicks to take down bad guys in this case he's using them to get to his drink faster who knows he was an early entrant into the celebrity bottle-cap war of 2019 so while his does seem a bit tame compared to other more theatrical videos it is no less impressive in fact as Twitter user at truly defective athlete put it quote this is exactly how I imagined a remake of cocktail starring Jason Statham would play out number nine Liz oh please oh is an exciting up-and-coming hip-hop artist whose third studio album cuz I love you was released in April 2000 nineteen she's set to gain even more fans after this hilarious and touching bottle cap challenge unlike a lot of the more serious videos liz owes is personable and charming as it takes place in what looks like a dressing room and features the singer slash rapper hilariously whipping her first attempt luckily she manages to connect the second time spring water a hole over the mirror both the innocent sense of fun and Liz's upbeat attitude of are infectious making this one of the most enjoyable bottle-cap challenges to watch number 8 John Mayer John Mayer is used to making the ladies swoon but with this video he also proves that he probably could take your head off with one swift kick John rears up and performs a fluid backwards kick directly to the cap causing it to twist off and fly off camera if he's incredibly satisfying to see his foot make contact with the cap and watching it spin off honestly we could watch it all day to signify his place in bottle cap challenge history he glances at the camera as if to say yeah I just did that he remind us never to mess with John Mayer number 7 Haley Bieber not ones to miss out on a fad the beavers have also gotten in on the bottle cap action Justin's attempt is pretty neat as he sends a cap flying with a well-placed spinning kick however we have to give the Beaver family crown to Haley her video is far more creative as it features music slow motion and oh yeah the use of a freakin ATV you've seen our fair share of the same old kicks but we can't say that we've seen someone utilizing an all-terrain vehicle it is a great detail that elevates the video and helps it stand out from the pack number 6 Marlon Wayans leaveth 2 Marlon Wayans to make a mockery out of the challenge but in an entertaining way at least you can tell that he's not taking it seriously from the very beginning as he makes cliche karate noises and just screams at the bottle for about 5 seconds like Liz Oh Marlon misses his first attempt but connects on the second sending the entire bottle flying and clattering to the ground his rather blunt message at the end just proves that his heart was never really in it even amidst the whole subvert expectations by not actually doing it Jarrah which we will see more of in a bit Marlon Wayans this video is still particularly funny number 5 Conor McGregor we expected Conor McGregor to do something cool and we were not disappointed while the kick itself is rather traditional it's the extra little touches in the video that make it so unique and memorable for one thing Conor boughs to the bottle in a show of respect which is something most celebrities do not do he also performs the kick while holding a bottle of whiskey and he toasts the viewer after the job is done however he very clearly refrains from actually drinking the whiskey and that was a little distracting come on Conor commit to the bit number four Donnie Yen if there's anyone we expect an amazing kick from it's a professional martial artist and action choreographer Donnie Yen is one of the biggest Asian action stars in the world having appeared in numerous Asian films as well as American blockbusters like xxx return of xander cage and rogue one and yes Donnie's kick was every bit as amazing as we thought it would be for one thing he's wearing a Toronto Raptors shirt Canada represent he also blindfolds himself before delivering a lightning-fast kick that ends with the cap spinning on the floor yep that's the professional martial artist at work right there number three Blake Shelton and if there's one person we did not expect an amazing kick from it's country music legends Blake Shelton Shelton abuse his video with his trademark country vibe with insects buzzing in the rural background he also uses a bottle of Smith Works vodka for the challenge which is actually his own brand of vodka and which is famous for its American heartland charm like Marlon Wayans Blake did not take the challenge seriously as he kicked the bottle cradled it in his arms and ran away while fake crying it looks a bit like an advertisement for Smith works but we can get over that it's still a hilarious video with personality and that alone makes it better than most other everyday challenge videos number 2 Ryan Reynolds it's not a fad until Ryan Reynolds gets involved the world-famous movie star decided to take the challenge in a new direction and the results were simply spectacular we watch in peaceful tranquility as a bottle of gin is carried around to various beautiful locations before making its way to Ryan Reynolds trailer it's there that Ryan gives it a fitting send-off by sending it flying into a wall where it shatters into pieces oh well it lived a good life the production design alone elevates this bottle-cap challenge above the others and the gut-busting and glass shattering ending is a thing of pure beauty the greatest short film of 2019 has arrived I don't know man is it just me or considering how many people have succeeded at this does it seem too easy not that I have or would try because I would just embarrass myself terribly but anyway with the most creative take on the challenge let's wait until after these cool honorable mentions to find out not quite at the end yet almost there though just be sure to subscribe to our insanely high vocal register was enough to send the loose cap flying off the bottle she doesn't even nominate anyone else she just smugly walks off camera with the full knowledge that she has just won
